The old Lönnrot School was once one of the most important cornerstones of education in Kajaani and a fine example of the Finnish architectural tradition. Today, this historic building has been given new life — carefully restored and transformed into a modern hub for entrepreneurship.

In Kainuu, the 2025 Viisikanta Architectural Heritage Award was granted to Kiinteistö Oy Lönnrotin koulu for the restoration of the building that respects the traditions of the old Lönnrot School, for the change of use of the building and for the preservation of the built environment and townscape in a tradition-respecting manner.
