Daughter of the North is a rapidly growing Finnish design brand, whose products are sold not only through its online store but also at trade fairs and by around 30 retailers across Finland.

Edith Saastamoinen-Torvi and Juho Torvi run Daughter of the North together, and Edith is the designer behind the brand’s jewelry. Edith and Juho create handcrafted, nature-inspired pieces known for their carefully designed colors, beautiful details, and lively expression. Each piece tells a story – the glow of berries, the shades of the forest, and the small wonders of nature transform into jewelry that carries memories and emotions from lived experiences.

The company’s name was inspired by the Kalevala, which is why, according to Edith and Juho, Lönnrot School – named after Elias Lönnrot, the compiler of the Kalevala – felt like a natural and meaningful environment for their work. The historic building’s narrative quality and timeless aesthetics perfectly align with their brand values and the idea of creating products designed to endure over time.
